Athol PS - Shade Structure

In the recent school holidays, Mass Energy Australia undertook a PVC shade sail structure as Athol PS.  This project took 5 days of work (150 man hours) to complete - which was two weeks in total, from the beginning to hand over to school.  We allowed one week for concrete curing before steel went up.  Access was hard and labour intensive as we had to lay 60m of protection across a sports field surface to ensure protection from all the equipment coming and going to site. Pestilent Protrusions - Gertrude Street Projections Festival 2014

The work of Victoria University's own Skunk Control, a group of engineers and educators from the College of Engineering and Science, has won the People's Choice Award and received high commendation in the Critics Award at the 2014 Gertrude Street Projection Festival.

Mass Energy assisted Simon Roberts (Victoria University) in sourcing appropriate LED strip lighting for the display.

ARENA shows support for Renewable Biomass with $2m funding announcement.

This week The Australian Renewable Energy Agency announced $2 million in funding support for the improvement in woody biomass harvesting efficiencies. 

The woody biomass harvester is being developed by Biosystems Engineering, and will aim to collect 15,000 tonnes of chipped Mallee from a plantation in NSW. The fuel will be used to supplement feedstock for a bioenergy power plant at the Broadwater sugar mill in NSW.
